It must be stressed that many items on the self-management itinerary are simple, yet are capable of allowing those with mild to moderate HF to lead near normal lives.
The following are some examples of recommended self management goals:

Salt restriction - less than 2 grams of sodium a day.
This is difficult as the average American takes in 6g [1]
Alcohol restriction
Water restriction
Quitting smoking
Learning to control high blood pressure, cholesterol level and Diabetes
Eating a sensible diet that’s low in saturated fats and salt
Partaking in exercise programs
Reducing stress
Limiting caffeine intake
