Learning objects are a new way of thinking about learning content, they are[1]:
small units of learning, typically ranging from 2 minutes to 15 minutes.
self-contained, each learning object can taken independently
reusable
structured to be grouped into larger collections of content
tagged with "metadata" - information about the object
